My name is Michael Ricker. I am a Motion Designer/ Art Director living in the Seattle area.The last two years I've been working in broadcast, producing commercial "spots" as well as station promos, IDs, bumpers, eyeliners, ect. Prior to joining the CW team, I was a "Creative Director/Motion Designer" for a Company called Pixelfire Productions, which specialized in creating content for L.E.D. screens in Times Square, New York. Before Pixelfire, I was a Multimedia designer for a company called Jellybarn where I worked with developers to create "viral" flash based internet applications. My work-
Here, I've embedded my current motion graphics demo reel. In my career, so far, I have worn many hats in production and have been called upon to concept, design, storyboard, animate and score. In many instances I've been asked to create entire spots by myself under extremely small budgets. I've included many examples of those projects here. As much as I love working as a team and collaborating with others, when it comes to showcasing my work, I think its important to show some of the more difficult projects I had little or no help with. I created all the spots you see here, from conception to animation. I also did any photography used.

2009 Demo Reel

This is a montage consisting mostly of the broadcast work I did in 2008/09. All concepts, art work and animation by Michael Ricker

This is a promo spot for the CW11 that I shot, animated co-wrote and produced

This :30 promo was shot, animated, composited and conceptualized by me. All the 3D and design work were completely original and custom made for this promotional campaign. This was just one of a series of spots that all had this look/feel.

Concept, design, animation was done by me. All 3D models and 2D textures where built from scratch.

This was a "spec" spot and was built for sales demonstration.

All studio photography was shot by me as well as all the design and animation.

Times Square animation spot for JVC. Concept, design and animation by Michael Ricker.

This is a spot I story-boarded, produced, designed and animated for Times Square Walgreens screen (the biggest L.E.D. screen in the U.S).

This "spec" spot was created as a previsualization before the sign was built. I modeled the 3D and created all the motion graphics for this presentation.
